This is one of the earliest Paxman horns I've seen and it is by far the earliest descant horn (by any maker) I have ever seen.  Paxman has always been a leader in designing horns.  This model pre-dates the model 44 (the model 40 with a stopping valve).  It has a dual change valve system (as is currently used by Schmid, and Alexander).  This one was made in 1967. It's also unusual in that it is made of unlacquered Nickel!  The stopping valve ensures in-tune gestopf playing (well,,, as if there is truly such a thing...).  The compression reads 3.9 across 6 valves (which actually is pretty good).  I dare anyone to find a Paxman descant horn at this price anywhere in the world!  Not only is this a collectible instrument, but it's a 'player' as well. You've got a B Minor mass coming up? This horn will do it.
Flat black case included (Similar to a Lawson case)
