In all my years playing and customizing horns I've only seen one other of this model by Carl Geyer. This is built on a 6D style design HOWEVER the cool thing is that it has a 1 piece valve cluster! (sorry Engelbert, you weren't the first despite what you claim!). This horn was made in 1966 right around the time that the Conn sound was huge in America. This one has just been cleaned and it's in great condition. The valves have near perfect compression with a reading of 0.9. Dimes have been added for lever comfort and an Amado waterkey has been installed on the leadpipe. The engraving is perfect and there are NO thin spots anywhere on this horn. I suspect that the bell alone is worth over $2000.
There are some minor dings here and there and evidence of one removed dent in the bell rim. This is both a great historical instrument and an amazing player!
Paxman fixed bell case included.
