This is a famed C series Elkhart Conn 8D made during the peak of their horn desirability. Everyone wanted one of these back in the 60's and they still do. This one has been made even better in that it has been 'Lawsonized' by Walter Lawson. He added a custom Lawson leadpipe, rebuilt the rotors, added a duck's foot, and installed 4 Amado waterkeys.
The ring is a Lawson/Alexander ring, and the flare has been stripped of its lacquer. There is are 2 tiny patches on the 3rd sides covering where there used to be other waterkeys (these are not patches in the sense of covering a hole due to wear or thin areas). The horn has the expected lacquer wear (and subsequent pitting due to the baked on epoxy style of lacquer). Lots of little dings etc, all of this is due to the fact that the horn plays GREAT and was used constantly.
This one is ready to pump out those powerful low notes and to re-create that dark wonderful L.A. Horn sound.
Protec detachable bell case included.
