Conn 8D #C25174 (Elkhart) WL

This C series 8d was made during the height of Conn's popularity.  Manufactured in 1963 this 8D has had the lacquer stripped and the bell cut.  The horn has been to the Lawson shop when it was in Boonsboro and has a custom Lawson leadpipe on it and an Amado waterkey on the leadpipe.  The compression is PERFECT at 0.1 and the valves haven't even been rebuilt.  The horn was properly maintained thus the great compression.  There are no thin spots or patches.  There re a few tiny dings and no evidence of any past repairs.
This is the quintessential 8D.   Big dark sound - easy to play, a true professional horn.
