There are not many used horns that demand such strong prices - Steve Lewis is one of the few makers whose horns not only hold their value but they appreciate steeply due to many factors. One is simply that they are some of the best playing horns on the planet. There's a reason why the Chicago Symphony horn section plays Lewis horns! Another reason is that Steve pays such attention to detail and quality. There are so few makers who spend such elaborate amounts of time getting everything PERFECT. Speaking of 'perfect', the compression on this horn is PERFECT, meaning it scored a 0.1! So, this is an earlier horn made by Steve and it's still in great playing condition. Yes, it has lots of little dings - but that's it - they're just little dings! The horn has no thin spots, no patches and it's all original. The bell tail is gold brass and the flare has been silver plated. Many prefer silver plating to lacquer as it protects the horn and is less intrusive into how it affects the way the horn plays. I don't know if Steve Lewis is still taking orders, but here's your way to get one of the most desired instruments made without waiting years.
An older gig bag is included if desired.
