Yamaha's custom line of horns have always been under-rated in the horn world - until some famous player is found to be playing that model and then everyone wants one! Their Geyer and Knopf models are incredibly free blowing and agile to play. This is their Knopf design which has the multi-plane change valve so that the air is always traveling the same direction through the horn. Made of unlacquered yellow brass it is all original with the exception of a flipper holder on the leadpipe and an extra guard under the top leadpipe brace. The compression is fabulous with a reading of 1.9 and the price ($5999.95) makes this all even MORE desireable.
For many decades I used the precursor to this horn (the 861) - it was the standard Geyer wrap. They updated that and came out with this fabulous model. Minor dings here and there, and evidence of some re-soldering in places. Nothing major - and nothing that affects the way the horn plays.
A Conn detachable bell case is included.
