The horn world was ecstatic when Paxman decided to create a line of lower priced horns.  We all knew they would bring their attention to detail and their deep knowledge base and design some top line horns that would rival horns costing more than twice as much.  This is a yellow brass lacquered Series 5.  The compression is perfect (the horn was barely used) and other than some minor dings it's in excellent condition.  These horns, though costing thousands less than their top of the line brethren, still have that classic 'Paxman' sound.  (check out the cd: The London Horn Sound to see what I mean).  This horn is priced $400 less than a brand new one.  Currently there are NO shops in the U.S. who have this model in stock as it is so backordered!

The Series 5 is a horn with a yellow brass detachable bell, a professional quality valve section, hand guard, mouthpipe guard, water key, independent Bb tuning slide and nickel silver valve casings.

Loosely based on the Paxman model 20, the bell has a similar profile to the Paxman medium bell and the mouthpipe is designed to complement this. The playing style is very responsive, with a rich, warm sound and excellent projection that easily carries to the back of the concert hall.
