I have never met a Paxman 20 that I didn't like. Ever. The sound, the way they play, the comfortable left hand position, etc, etc, the list goes on and on. The model 20 is Paxman's flagship model - and it would be difficult to find any top orchestra world wide that doesn't have a Paxman somewhere in the section. If you've never heard: 'The London Horn Sound' - do it! You'll be amazed at the sound of Paxman horns - centered, full and powerful. This one has good compression (2.3) and is made of unlacquered yellow brass. It's a 'L' bore (Large) but that isn't as 'large' as an 8D - so no worries about being too dark. Paxman found the perfect balance of 'dark' and 'focused'. This horn is all original with the small exception of having a lever pad soldered to the 3rd lever for comfort. This horn has been sitting for a few years, and thus the discoloration of the surface brass - but don't be put off by that! Tarnish protects the metal - AND this horn was just cleaned. It's all set to go - all it needs is an aspiring professional player.
A Paxman flat case is included.
