Paxman 20LYD #5035 TH

I'm actually pretty serious when I say that Paxman bought my house.  What I mean by that is that for the majority of my career I performed on a Paxman horn.  The clarity of sound and reliability of knowing where every note was centered was a comfort and it allowed me to play musically.  This horn is so similar.  It's a large bore yellow brass model 20 with a detachable flare.  It's all original with the exception of an added Alexander flipper and adjustable finger hook.  The compression is good at 1.6 and the horn comes with a Marcus Bonna MB5 case.  This horn centers and has a great dark sound.  There are multiple places where dents have been removed from this horn and it bears the 'lacquer scars' from that.  These are simply visual distractions from a horn that plays and sounds good.  The flare shows the burnishing marks as does the bell tail.  There are multiple minor dings here and there - testimony to how much this horn was played!  The main tuning slide has a section on the bottom of the slide where some of the tubing has chipped away from being stuck.  (the horn is now completely cleaned and working well).
Ignore the visual stuff - and buy this horn for how it plays and sounds!!
