I have always felt that the King Eroica and Fidelio were some of the most underrated horns ever made. The playing qualities of this horn reminded me of that. This horn is made of unlacquered nickel (the lacquer was removed at some point). It has a detachable bell with a Lawson/Alexander ring on it. A flipper has been added along with 2 Joy keys. Because of the joy keys the compression can only be tested on a valve by valve basis and each valve had a perfect score of 0.1. The used horn market is riddled with loads of horns in the 3K price range but none of them are as high end as the King. This instrument will take ALL the air you can put into it and more. There are a few minor dings here and there, and the owner installed the Joy keys in a way that did push into one of the other tubes a bit - but none of this has any affect on how great this horn plays.
