I've been in this business for so very long that it is rare when a horn comes in that I've never seen before - this is such an instrument! It's a 'Like New' model 202 by Dieter Otto. Made of lacquered brass it has 4 piston valves and it's a compensating double horn with near perfect compression (1.2). That compression number is after the air passes through the valves 2x's while playing in 'F'. That's the equivalent of having 8 valves - that is why that is such an amazing number. Also - because it is a compensating double - the compression is of utmost importance. To make a long story short - this horn plays so freely AND it is incredibly lightweight - without sounding like it's lightweight. The bell has an engraved garland (stunning!) and the craftsmanship is equally impressive. The owner of this horn took great care of it (he's a retiring professional) and the horn truly is in new condition.
