There was a time when the Conn 6D was considered to be a professional line instrument and it was used as such in many of the top American orchestras. After the introduction of the 8D it was then designated as an intermediate line instrument - but it still plays with all those desirable characteristics that they enjoyed back in the day. This Eastlake 6D has great compression (1.1) and that is the heart of the horn. Poor compression = Poor playability and intonation. Despite all the lacquer wear and dings here and there it plays great. This is a perfect starting double for an aspiring player. It has just been ultrasonically cleaned and is ready to go. It's all original and comes with a Conn fixed bell case. Made of lacquered yellow brass with nickel tubes. The lacquer is colored gold so the nickel tubes are also gold color rather than silver in color.
