The previous owner of this horn was an elderly gentleman who thought he wanted to get back into horn playiing again, but changed his mind. This is the proverbial 'driven to church on sundays' horn. Only a few tiny dings distinguish this from a brand new horn, well, that and the thousands of dollars you save over the current price of that model.
It's made of lacquered yellow brass and has a detachable bell with a Yamaha ring. The compression is perfect due to it barely being used, and the original case with the goodie bag is included.
I spent 10 years playing a Yamaha 861 (the precursor to this model) and can't say enough good things about it. The 871 has updated tapers that make it have a darker sound with more 'tonal information' due to the use of gold brass used in the slide tubes.
If you just got into the conservatory of your choice or just won a great gig - this is your horn!
