In the early 1980's Yamaha took the horn world by storm when they introduced the 861 (geyer), 862 (Kruspe) and 863 (Schmidt) model horns. The quality of the craftsmanship on these horns made hornists realize that these were truly top quality horns. This 862 is made of unlacquered nickel. It has an aftermarket bell cut with a Lawson/Alexander ring, an Amado waterkey, and it has a Clebsch strap added (the fingerhook was removed) - everything else is original on it. The valves have great compression at 1.3. Once you try these horns you'll never go back to an 8D again. There are small dings and dents along the bottom of the horn but overall it's in good shape. There is also some solder flashing that wasn't removed during the bell cut - but this is just aesthetic.
Big sound, but not so dark that you'll get lost!
