Pope's Piss Valve Oil. I've been threatening this for years! This is my own valve oil - not synthetic, lasts long, works great and will make you smile. I guarantee you'll like it - or a full refund will be issued! 2-fl. Oz. As my friend and fellow hornist Fred Aldrich says: 'Pope's Piss is THE Shi#'.
Cost: $4.25

Better than a trip to the Urologist
My bunker of of Hetman's finally ran out. I needed a replacement. I looked through Poperepair and saw that the JM stuff would possibly do fine but the name on this was just a hell of a lot more fun, and with a money back guarantee why not? I ordered two bottles here, and two of those little gun oil bottles with little needles off Amazon for oiling guns, chainsaws, small engines, model airplanes, IV injections, etc. for easily delivery (but I guess I could have gotten about 1000 off ULine cheaper). Transferred it over to the precision squeezer... Injected my horn - which is a Paxman 75.3 and has about as much surface area on the valves as the state of Connecticut, and it is does the job. It's amazing. It's the best oil I've ever used. Colorless. Odorless. Tasteless (I assume). Makes my valves feel like I'm playing with a jet pack or something, and it's safe to say I won't be returning this for my money back. Buy a dozen. Buy some for your friends. Buy some for your mother so she knows you've been thinking of her. Buy some as a stocking stuffer. There's really no better way to say "I Love You" than Pope's Piss. Buy a case for a TMEA themed birthday party. Ken, I hope you never stop making this. Also, maybe stock some of those little gun oil bottles too? I couldn't find them here and I don't like the fact that Bezos had to get some of my coins for that but that's where I could find them, sadly.

Pope’s Piss
Seriously the best maintenance fluid for your horn…ever!

Pope's Piss
Surprisingly thin (that's a good thing), with no chemical smell. I have an older Yamaha yhr 662 that likes a lot of very thin oil. When Hetman disappeared from shelves I ordered several alternatives from various stores and I am impressed with Pope's homegrown! If subsequent bottles are consistently this good, I've found a replacement!

Pope's Brand Valve Oil
Immediately, this oil worked! And lasted! It creates a very good seal between the valve and casing, and with French horn rotary valves, have a great feel and you can literally heat the tiny "snap" noise the valves make when actuated and closed. I've tried several major brand oils and I'm hooked.
