Built in 1982 this Paxman 40L (Large Bore, Bb-High F) descant has not been used much.  The compression is wonderful at 1.9, and there are no thin spots or patches.  The sounds is nice and dark given that it's a large bore AND red brass thus making it easier to match the High F side of the horn to the Bb slide.  Paxman descants are probably found in every major orchestra world wide.
This horn has an added amado waterkey (a cover was put over the position of the previous waterkey).  There is evidence of repaired dents on the bottom tail of the horn - but nothing that affects the way the horn plays.
The F extension means that you can basically use this instrument just like a full triple horn - minus that extra weight.
The paxman plastic horn case was damaged in shipping, so we are selling this without a case. (A discount on a new case will be applied)
