This is a rare Gold Brass, Pattern Annealed, lacquered Lawson Flare. serial #1014L stamped 590PA (Pattern Annealed). Not all the alloys can handle the PA process at 700 degrees, so for ambronze, gold, and yellow brass the furnace was stepped down to 590 C
This flare has been re-lacquered and is in overall good condition. Very few dings, though the inside does have pitting (which was lacquered over to prevent it from going any deeper). The sound qualities of pattern annealing are so cool to hear - they hold the sound together at high volumes - resisting the edge that happens with most flares.
