Hoyer reached out to famed soloist and orchestral player Myron Bloom when they were designing this horn. Myron was the principal hornist of the Cleveland Orchestra for many decades (and he was one of my 'horn heros'!). Myron liked a horn with silky smooth slurs, and worked with Hoyer to produce such an instrument - and the 7800 series was born. This one is made of unlacquered nickel with mechanical minibal linkages (No more broken strings!). The compression is 3.9 - and remember that Myron wanted smooth slurs - compression numbers between 3-4 produce this. An amado waterkey has been added to the leadpipeand other than that it is all stock. I always prefer this model to the Conn 8d - try it and find out why. Small dings here and there and some wear on the lever paddles.
Protec detachable bell case included.
