In the historical line of the Kruspe Horner model, the Durk D8 is the newest entry in the 8D style of horn, though it's one made to the specifications of the top German builder, Dietmar Durk. As with the other custom model horns from this company, this features the interchangeable nib system allowing the player to seamlessly change between European and American shank mouthpieces. Some people prefer the Kruspe/8D design because it features a higher ratio of tapered tubing to cylindircal tubing than the Geyer style horns. This horn is made of lacquered yellow brass with a detachable bell, with a fully adjustable finger hook and thumb lever.
