An affordable Elkhart 8D??? Yes! This is an M series 8D from 1969. It's all original with no thin spots or patches. It does have the usual lacquer wear and pitting. (Conn used very hard lacquer which didn't wear evenly, so when it chipped or scratched it would cause shallow pitting). This is made of lacquered nickel with a valve compression reading of 3.9. This plays like you would expect an Elkhart 8D to play. BIG dark sound - perfect for recording studios or low horn players!. Just ultrasonically cleaned it is ready to go - are you?
Again - this truly is an Elkhart 8D for only 3K! Lots of little dings - especially in the throat area from those quick mute changes.
Conn fixed bell case included.
