Every hornist has a soft spot for a nice Alexander horn - either from playing one, or from hearing the renowned Berlin Phil section. This one will tickle your senses in that it's a 103 with a stopping valve (that makes it a 104!). It's got very good compression (1.9) and that is over 5 valves!!! It's made of lacquered (barely... most of it has worn off) gold brass. The gold brass adds a bit more darkness to the sound. It also has a stopping valve which works on both sides of the horn. Typically these are only on the Bb side - but not this one! No more missed notes due to worrying about transposing - either for gestopf passages or for transposing into E. There is one extra guard on the F return tube (Up by the 1st valve), and there are little dings here and there - but nothing that affects the horn. This Alexander has a wonderful sound and lots of power. The left hand guard has been replaced with a much longer one to protect the instrument.
A Yamaha fixed bell case is included.
