I recall, back around 1977, when my horn teacher at the time whipped out a new leadpipe for my Conn 8D. This was a new thing (to me) - and the was the product of a small repair tech (Hadn't started making horns yet) named Walter Lawson. His designs had a HUGE impact on the horn world. Meticulous research and record keeping meant that he could reproduce the same product very closely. His leadpipes are still the most desired! This Alexander 103 has one of his flagship leadpipes on it, and Lawson also converted this horn to a detachable flare (Alexander/Lawson ring). The horn is made of unlacquered yellow brass and is in overall very good condition (Ignore the tarnish!). The compression reading is 5.9 - the horn slurs with ease!
A very heavy Lawson case is included if desired (Not recommended as it is extremely bulky and heavy!).
