The Alexander 103 is the most commonly played horn in the world.  I doubt you couldn't find a single orchestra in Europe where at least one of the players doesn't own a 103.  Here's an affordable way to find out why!  This is an unlacquered yellow brass 103.  It has a detachable flare with an Alexander ring.  The inside of the flare has been silver plated (thus the dark tarnish you can see in the photos).  The silver protects the brass from wearing too quickly.  There is a guard/patch on the top of the horn where it is held during rests, and a flipper/ducksfoot has been installed for comfort (and for hitting those high notes!).  The compression registers 2.9 and an older MB7 case is included.  This 103 has the new minibal linkages which are silent and efficient.  There are lots of dings throughout the horn as to be expected from a well loved and often played instrument.
