When Yamaha introduced the YHR 861 around 1983 (trying to recall the exact year), I was working at Osmun Brass. I tried that first horn out and immediately purchased it. That Yamaha 861 was my main instrument for over 15 years. Easy to play, solid in all registers, and gorgeously built. This 861 is made of unlacquered yellow brass. It was converted to a detachable bell with a Lawson/Alexander ring. It has been customized by adding 2 Joy keys, Lever buttons, and a flipper holder. Its got lots of dings and it shows that it was intensely loved and played for many years before the owner decided to quit using it. Their loss is your gain! The compression is 3.9 so a more viscous oil would be good to use.
This model is the pre-cursor to the current YHR 871 (which costs over 8K!!!).
A Marcus Bonna MB7 is included.
