The Yamaha RVO Regular Superior Valve Oil is bases on a newly developed synthetic formula that is more consistent than mineral-based oil to provide superior performance in all playing environments. The RVO Regular Oil is made up of even-sized molecules to allow the oil to evaporate smoothly, guaranteeing a longer life with extremely responsive action. The Regular Superior Oil is designed for instruments with standard valve tolerances, such as student trumpets and is the same oil included with all Yamaha Student Series Instruments. The Yamaha RVO Regular Superior Valve Oil is available in a 1.28 ounce plastic bottle.

The Yamaha LVO Light Superior Valve Oil is based on a newly developed synthetic formula that is more consistent than mineral-based oil to provide superior performance in all playing environments. The LVO Light Oil is made up of even-sized molecules to allow the oil to evaporate smoothly, guaranteeing a longer life with extremely responsive action. The Light Superior Oil is designed for instruments with tight valve tolerances, such as custom and professional trumpets and is the same oil included with all Yamaha Professional and Artist Series Custom Instruments. The Yamaha LVO Light Superior Valve Oil is available in a 1.28 ounce plastic bottle.

Offers Versatility and Long-Lasting Instrument Performance
The latest Yamaha lubricants include the new Trombone Slide Oil (YAC 1021P) and the new synthetic Superior Valve Oil, available in Light (YAC LVO), Regular (YAC RVO) and Vintage (YAC VVO) viscosities.

Developed for musicians seeking the highest quality lubricants, the three different viscosities of Superior Valve Oils meet the needs of a variety of piston valve clearances and provide greater stability in varying temperatures and environments. Light Oil is ideal for instruments with a tight piston clearance and music styles demanding fast valve action; Regular Oil is intended for instruments with regular piston clearance and players of all levels; and Vintage Oil works best on instruments with a large piston clearance, such as low brass and vintage instruments.

Yamaha Superior Oils contain ten times the corrosion-inhibiting properties of its predecessors and feature longer-lasting performance and protection. Results from extensive laboratory testing show that Yamaha Superior Oils outperformed the competition in pushing force, lower evaporation rate and anti-corrosion properties.

"High quality, long lasting valve oil is critical to players in any performance environment," said Ted Kuehnert, Accessories Marketing Manager. "Yamaha Superior Oils have been painstakingly tested and proven to be the highest performing valve oils available."

    Yamaha Synthetic Oil (Vintage)

Posted by Emma Brown on Aug 25th 2022

I own a 35 year old Yamaha 868 and am currently a music student studying performance. I was having some issues with my valves clicking and shifting in their casing when I played. They were also generally pretty loud. This oil solved both problems and has been generally really great to play with. The price is also the cheapest I could find on the internet. All around great deal.
