Translated from German:

Paulinus Stegner (born 1999 in Berlin) is a horn player, trumpeter, and composer based in Leipzig. From 2019 to 2024, he studied Music Education; since 2024, he has been pursuing a Master’s degree in Horn Performance and Pedagogy under Prof. Thomas Hauschild at the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig (HMT Leipzig). He received further instruction from Jürgen Runge, Anne Mentzen, and Bernhard Krug, and studied jazz improvisation and interpretation with Martin Auer and Antonia Hausmann. He received instruction in jazz arranging from Heiko Kulenkampff, Ralf Schrabbe, and Henning Plankl, as well as through courses led by Ansgar Striepens and Steven Feifke. At the university, he also acquired skills in classical arranging and composition.
In Leipzig, he is active in various ensembles; among other roles, he serves as the artistic co-director and a volunteer board member of the association *The Bigband Messengers e. V.* On the pedagogical front, he works as an instrumental teacher at the *Musikschule Neue Musik* in Leipzig-Gohlis, and is also in demand as a lecturer—notably for the Saxon Wind Music Association (*Sächsischer Blasmusikverband*).
He composes and arranges pieces for the Horn Octet and the University Big Band at HMT Leipzig, the Saxon Youth Jazz Orchestra (*Jugendjazzorchester Sachsen*), *Spielvereinigung Süd*, and *The Bigband Messengers*. Additionally, he devotes himself to composing for all-brass ensembles, with a particular focus on the jazz horn quartet. In 2019, his band *Easy Does It*—performing his original compositions—was awarded a concert prize at the national *Jugend Jazzt* competition. In 2024, his Jazz Suite for Horn Quartet won First Prize at the international *Beyond Borders French Horn Composition Competition*.
