This double horn by Engelbert Schmid has all the 'right' customizations.  Typically one sees Schmid triples in orchestras, less so the doubles.  The reason is that the doubles are almost 'too light' in terms of sound, where as the triple horn's extra weight adds more color and strength to the sound.  This Schmid has a custom leadpipe with 2 custom tuning slides by Felix Cantesanu - the bell is an unlacquered hand hammered Nickel Silver Wide flare.  These things make for a fabulous sounding horn which still retains all the qualities of that 'sports car' feel of the light weight double.  The body is lacquered though much of it is worn.  The compression is perfect at 0.1 and the horn has just been ultrasonically cleaned.  No case is included - the original leadpipe and tuning slides are included as well.

Professionally maintained.  This horn would cost many thousands more new!
