Next Door to Purple for Horn with String Quartet by Brett Miller. $23.00
Next Door to Purple Employs the somewhat under-utilized chamber ensemble of horn and string quartet in the setting of personal interactions. The piece has a 3-part structure that develops a dialogue which starts out well (ÛPleasantriesÛ), devolves (ÛQuarrelÛ), and resolves to a stable, but possibly unsatisfying conclusion (ÛStatus QuoÛ).
The piece is written by Brett Miller, a talented young composer and french hornist who has performed with the National Symphony Orchestra, the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra and the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra. He is a member of the Brass Mosaic brass quintet. Currently, Brett is a member of the Ceremonial Brass in the United States Air Force Band, Washington, D.C. He is a member of the Ceremonial Brass Quintet.
