I can't think of a more perfect 1st double horn for any young player than this Holton H188 horn. It's made of lacquered nickel and is in fine shape. The fixed bell means you don't have to worry about the younger players messing up the bell ring! The compression is good at 2.4 and the horn has a few tiny dings here and there. If this was on a 1-10 scale with 10 being brand new - I'd put this about a 7 or 8. Think of it this way - new this horn sells for about $4700 - those small dings are saving you almost $2000!! There is evidence of 2 repaired solder joints, and a slight push-in at the leadpipe brace - but all has been repaired.
