The owner of this horn took quite good care of it in that it has only a couple tiny dings in it. It's made of unlacquered nickel and has a detachable flare (though, the horn comes with a fixed bell case). This is a perfect instrument for a younger player or for someone in Music Education who is wanting a good player, but without breaking the bank. These horns were THE standard when I was in High School - and they are still one of the most popular models out there.
