Jacques-Francois Gallay (1795-1864)
Three Grand Duos, op.38
Gallay was a student of Dauprat at the Paris Conservatoire, and succeeded his teacher there in 1842. He is considered to have been the last great natural horn virtuoso in France, and was not at all a fan of the new valved horn. These duos were composed in 1837.
