Yamaha YHR 868D #001026 LR

$6,150.00

I truly believe that the most underrated horns are those made by Yamaha, especially the Custom series.  Since they debuted in the early 80's they have gained traction into the professional realm including in the Boston and Vienna Symphony orchestras.  This is an unlacquered YHR 868D.  It is a Kruspe style horn, much like an 8D, but MUCH easier to play.  The compression is PERFECT (0.1).  The only 'modifications' on this were the detachable bell conversion (using the more preferred Alexander ringset), an Alexander Handstrap (very comfy), and an Amado waterkey on the leadpipe.  It does have small dings (the 3rd F slide, bell tail, and a few other places, but there are NO thin spots, patches, or red rot.  Perfect horn for chamber concerts and recordings with it's dark tone and easy playability.
All this and it comes with a blue Marcus Bonna MB5C-hi case! (a $550 value)
