One of the pitfalls of a descant horn is that they often have a 'trumpet like' sound on the High F side of the horn. This horn, being both a Large bore AND made of Lacquered Gold Brass takes care of that issue completely. Those two factors work together to darken that sound This horn is from 1971, and, as mentioned, is made of lacquered gold brass with a Paxman ringset. It sports a stopping valve (no more out-of-tune gestopf passages, an Alexander flipper, and an Amado waterkey AND it comes with a very nice (and expensive) cardo case. It has plenty of small dings here and there as to be expected with a 50 year young horn - and there is a protective guard by the thumb lever on the inside of the bell tail. Coins have been added to the levers to make the reach more comfortable. The compression is a 4.0.
