Carl Geyer made very few Schmidt model horns (they were some of the first ones he made after coming to America). They're built on German valve sections and the few that exist (and that have tight valves) play wonderfully. This one is made of unlacquered yellow brass. The rebuilt valves are giving this a 0.2 compression reading which is GREAT!. The high Bb is incredibly spot on secure - more so than almost any other horn I have played. It's a 'well loved' horn as evident by the many patches (which have been wonderfully fashioned). It doesn't look like much, but it plays like a million bucks. Try this horn! Don't judge it by how it looks.
Black fixed bell case included.
