This horn was made in 1958 by the famous horn maker Carl Geyer. He was retired at the time and would absolutely "not make any more horns" and yet agreed to build this horn, in the rococo style with crooks from F down to B-flat basso. It was given to Philip Farkas to try out, and from there was passed around the whole Chicago horn section. All the players were enthusiastic about it and wanted to keep it for themselves. Geyer persuaded them to return it and sent to the original buyer. Mrs. Geyer had hand sewn beautiful fitted corduroy bags for the horn and various crooks, all of which are included.
Comes has a hand hammered bell, original Geyer fixed bell case, 3 crooks (F, G, Bb), corduroy crook bags.
