Conn 8D (Elkhart) #323225

This classic 8D was made in 1947 when Conn dominated the American horn market.  This is a professionally owned and maintained horn.  The valves have been rebuilt (thus the perfect 0.1 compression rating).  The bell has been cut (Lawson/Alexander ringset), and a flipper has been added.  There are plenty of small dents and evidence of some dent removal in the flare - but it's a solid, dark sounding, powerful horn.  A 2nd handguard has been added over the left hand guard.  This is the type of instrument that made American movie soundtracks so popular and thus changed the horn 'landscape' here in the U.S.
