This is a cool horn - one I've never encountered before. Of course the Cerveny name is well known, but it's usually associated with their (very) famous line of tubas. This is a gold brass horn of theirs based on the Alexander 103. It's made of lacquered gold brass and has all mechanical (Minibal) linkages. The compression is fabulous at 1.5 AND the horn comes with a flight compatible Marcus Bonna Ultra light detachable case. Cerveny is coming up on their 200th anniversary - they aren't some new kid on the block - this horn draws upon their expertise in brass making. The soldering and overall craftsmanship is top notch, and the horn plays like it. The sound is very 'Germanic' similar to a Berlin style given the wrap and extra zing from the gold brass. Priced to go - perfect horn for someone stepping up and heading off to college. Minor dings here and there, and some lacquer scratches. The leadpipe is made of nickel so you don't have to worry about red-rot!
