The usual caveats about compensating horns do not apply in this instance. When playing on the "lower" side of any compensating horn the air passes through the valves 2 times and thus the leakage is multiplied. On this horn the high F side has a perfect compression score of 0.1, and when playing on the Bb side of the horn, the score is 1.9. That means that the compression number is good even after passing through the equivalent of 8 valves. The horn also has a stopping valve so that the possibilities are multiplied. It is in gorgeous condition and is made of unlacquered gold/red brass. Perfect for playing those Bach cantatas and Haydn symphonies and a good way to get a really professional horn.
