Manufactured in 1965, this gorgeous pre-model 20 experimental Paxman is in very good condition. Despite being almost half of Ken's age, the compression is still impressively reading at 2.0. The horn is made of a beautiful red brass with lacquer, and has all original parts, with the exception of an Alexander flipper. There are some minor dings in the bell and on some slides, but nothing serious that would have an effect on sound production.
With the horn, the instrument comes with an additional case filled with accessories. These include mainly maintenance tools (snake, mouthpiece brush, oils etc.), but of note is an additional slide that transposes the B flat side of the horn to A horn. The "fake" valve cap can be rotated a quarter turn to rotate between B flat and A, without affecting the F side of the horn or pulling slides in and out. In total, you'd get a cool horn that plays great, a bunch of horn maintenance stuff (all usable and useful), two Paxman detachable bell flat horn cases, and bragging rights to all of your horn buddies for having such a unique instrument!
