This Alexander 103 is a product of both German and American horn makers. The leadpipe was made from Lawson, giving it a resonant sound to go along with the ultra-responsive quality Alex horns tend to have. The valves were also rebuilt by Steve Lewis, giving the instrument a perfect valve compression of 0.1. Valves "1,2, and 3" use string linkage while the change valve uses mechanical. Made of a lacquered nickel silver, the horn is in excellent condition and has a detachable bell. There is lacquer deterioration across the body of the horn, but certainly nothing that would affect anything acoustically. This would be an excellent horn to try for someone who loves the way Alexander horns play but is trying to blend with a section of non-Alexander players. Comes with a detachable bell Alexander horn case.
